We have selected old publications by Oliver Mateu on the occasion of the 60th anniversary. Get ready to enjoy the Mallorca in the 60s and its magical graphic advertising, the classic drawings that served as real estate renders and decoration of the time.
Oliver Mateu is a real estate agency and promoter of Mallorcan heritage founded by Juan Oliver Mateu in 1958. He has managed to overcome adversity to date. Along with him we have dusted off old publications that have survived the passage of time.
Advertising was an art in its fullness. In photography, one must be totally knowledgeable about the trade so that it does not leave room for doubt. That Mediterranean aroma was a magnificent commercial resource to inspire wishes for a better future.

There was no "drone" for the aerial photographs so a helicopter had to be hired to do them or else to invent it in a thousand impossible ways so that the photo would look great.

The maps of that time are an X-ray of a Mallorca to be developed, from which its virginal nature was highlighted. Oliver Mateu from his beginnings bet by the graphism like way to express so much details (maps, planes, renders ...) like sensations.

Initially Oliver Mateu had several offices spread across the coastal areas of Palma as well as headquarters in Menorca (see the following triptych). At present, everything is concentrated in its central office on the seafront of the Paseo Marítimo.

The renders were something extraordinary. They were drawn by hand, estimating what the promotion would be like. We can appreciate a chromatic range that characterizes the era.

The typographies began to play with the oval shapes and the cohesion between them, very influenced by the psychedelia of the Hippie movement.

The frames, in turn, accompanied this style with its shapes and colorful colors. The blue of the sea could not be missing in any of the catalogs that were stamped.

As you appreciate, the decoration of both the interior and the furniture was very different. Fashions have changed a lot since then and what is now vintage was the latest trend in 70-80-90.

We hope that you have enjoyed experiencing with us this generational journey through these 60 years of work on our beloved island. We will continue working to make people's dreams come true as we have been doing for a long time.
